12 Easy Elf on the Shelf Ideas

Elf on the Shelf Is A Must…

One thing’s for sure, if you have kiddos in the house, then it’s not officially Christmas until your Elf on the Shelf makes an appearance! For many, the reappearance of our pesky friend will have you thinking “Dear Santa, please, no, not again!”. After all, its not like we don’t have a million other things to organize when it comes to the holiday season. But don’t fret, the holiday season is almost over!

Since you’ve clearly accepted the fact that your little Elf friend is a permanent visitor, we’re here to help make their stay just a wee bit easier on you this year. It’s kind of like an extended visit from the in-laws, you know they’re coming each year for Christmas and you just have to make the best of it!

Last Minute Elf Ideas

Let’s face it, every parent stresses about what to do with their Elf next and how to top their last idea - originality is hard to come by when it comes to Elf on the Shelf ideas! BUT, with the Elf basically breaking the internet, it also means there are a ton of ideas out there for us to use!

If you search the internet for funny Elf on the Shelf ideas, you’re bound to find some great ideas that your kids will love (even some for the adults too). So for those of you that have run out of ideas and need some last minute suggestions, I have listed 12 Simple Elf on the Shelf Ideas below.

Preparing for Next Year

So you’re almost done with this year, but what about next year!? To make sure you’re prepared for next year, start planning out your month of December in advance. That way, you shouldn’t run into the ‘I’m fresh out of ideas’ road block.

We also recommend that you…

  1. Introduce an Elf Door prior to your Elf’s arrival. If you don’t know what an Elf Door is, you can read about it here.

  2. Prepare some notes from the Elf in the event he/she forgot to move. Maybe they feel unwell? Perhaps they fell asleep? Keep a batch of these notes ready to go so that you can carefully place it near your Elf, should they forget to move. Again, there are a ton of printable excuses available online such as these ones.

But for now, take solace in the fact that you’re almost through with another year of Elf on the Shelf…Happy Holidays Everyone!
